Representatives of EU states and Interpol to discuss topicalities of home affairs in Brussels

On 16 December, in Brussels, representatives of the European Union member states and agencies and International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) will discuss the key issues of home affairs area.

It is an event of the EU justice and home affairs external relations, arranged each half a year, in order to discuss the cooperation of the EU law enforcement subdivisions – Standing committee on operational cooperation in the police area (CATS) and Standing committee on internal security (COSI).

The agenda of the meeting includes topics like future development of the justice and home affairs area, fight against child sexual exploitation on the internet, control of firearms, environmental crime, Interpol procedure for issuance of information, fight against international and organised crime, cooperation with third countries.

The Lithuanian Presidency will be represented by Director of International cooperation department of the Ministry of the Interior Olegas Skinderskis and Director of public security policy department of the Ministry of the Interior Tomas Žilinskas. Representatives of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Police Office (EUROPOL), the European Union's Judicial Cooperation Unit (EUROJUST) will also take part in the meeting
