Despite all the efforts and intense talks during the last months, the negotiations on the EMFF were suspended on Thursday afternoon. The negotiators could not find a satisfactory solution on the budgetary allocations for the measures under shared and direct management, on engine replacement and several other issues.

"We want to underline that safety and lives of Union‘s fishermen is the matter that the Lithuanian Presidency defended and we are sure the next will do as well. Given the maturity of the file we believe that the agreement still can be reached in the first weeks of the next year", said the Deputy Permanent Representative of Lithuania in the EU ambassador Arunas Vinciunas.
